Lacking Motivation

Carlie and I were talking about how we could save some money on our wedding. We have been looking through all of the wedding magazines and online to get the feel of what things we want and how much its going to cost us. We came across some cake designs and found a few that we like. When we started pricing the cakes the prices were anywhere from $600 to $1000. We realized we had nowhere near that much money to spend on cake. Carlie then started feeling bad because she really wanted this cake. We then started talking to her family to see if there was any way we were going to be able to get the cake she wanted. Her mom and sister started talking about how easy it looked to make. Carlie didn’t feel so good about it at first, because her mom has attempted making a wedding cake before; and failed horribly. Frances and Heather then decided to take some cake decorating classes. They have been taking them for the past few months; every Monday faithfully. For there final project they had to make a two tier cake. Frances decide to attempt to make Carlies dream wedding cake (minus a tier). Last night we spent a few hours at Heathers cutting fondant flowers, had painting each flower with a shimmer, and inserting sugar pearls into each individual flower (400 to be exact)! This morning Carlie was so ecstatic and could hardly wait to see that darn cake, that she went to the class to see how things were going. She was so surprised when she walked through the door, because the cake was better than she had pictured it to be! Absolutely beautiful. Mom says “Damn straight”. Other then that life is great. Here are a few of Frans and Heathers first cakes.
This morning I woke up to Carlie yelling “Tay wake up, you don’t need to sleep any more! We need to help dad with the wall! Your young, he needs your help. Dad’s getting old and can’t do as much as he use to…” I finally rolled out of bed about 10:00am. I went down stairs to the kitchen, where my wonderful Fiancé and her mom were making breakfast. While breakfast was being made Floyd and I started working out in the yard. He worked on moving some clay so we could start putting the wall back together. I Started cleaning out the gutter so we could put the covers on so we don’t have to keep cleaning the leaves up out of them. After breakfast I finished attaching the covers on then went to help Floyd build the wall. We worked on it until we ran out of daylight. We then went to dinner. That concludes another Saturday spent in the yard.
Its now November the 13th , boy its amazing how time just fly’s by. Not much has been going on at the Pehrson’s. Everyone has been busy at work all week. I actually got off early today due to no production, I was happy about that. Since I got off work early, I was able to spend the day with Carlie. It seems like we haven’t really had any time to spend together, since we both work different hours. Were trying to make the best of what little time we do have right now, because of our hectic schedules. Today we went to Carlinville to get my Illinois drivers license and plates for my car. Of course we didn’t have all the correct documents so I will just have to wait until next weekend. We did however receive the paper for our wedding invitations, and we couldn’t be happier. Carlie can’t wait to get started on them!
Sorry guys we don't have any pictures to post today so we thought we would post this cute little video...hope you enjoy :)
When I got home form work Friday night, Carlie Informed me we that we are going to be helping mom and dad clean the yard, because it’s suppose to be a nice day Saturday. So I decided to start blowing and raking some leaves to make a big pile towards the back of the yard by the woods Friday night. I don’t think I have ever seen so many leaves in one yard in my whole life. Last night I decided to set the alarm clock for about 7:30am so we could get an early start. We all know I’m not a morning person. Carlie and I woke up about 8:25am . I got dressed and headed to the front yard. There I found Floyd and Frances already working, so I got the rake and started pushing the leaves to the same spot I burned them the night before. Little did I know we were going to the store first to get a few thing. Shopping in it self took up half of the day. We arrived back home about 2:30pm. We spent the rest of the afternoon burning leaves, and shoveling the side of the hill so we can finish putting the wall back together. By night fall we realized we would be doing the same tomorrow.
